Living through art
Alongside her brand and design work, Heather creates works of art, functional and decorative under the moniker, Dune Brooklyn. The space is centered around visual creation and is a functional design studio inspired by the sensorial experience of the desert. The studio was founded in 2021, to create spaces and objects that cultivate a sense of sublimity, peace in solitude, and joy in rituals. Surreal natural scenes, textures, light, color, and forms provide a framework for creation in various media. While Heather is primarily focused on ceramics at this time, she frequently dabbles in abstract and minimalist painting, charcoal sketching, landscape and still life photography, floral arrangement, and even food.
Heather’s artwork and photography have been sourced by interior designers and featured in various art shows and independent publications including; Tiny Atlas Quarterly CLIMATE Exhibition in collaboration with The East Cut Community Benefit District, Sceen’ry Mag, In Her Studio Magazine Summer 2023 Issue, and various online publications including Thrillist.
